Chapter 2 Thesis Enrolment System

Notes on Philippine pre-provincial writing Notes and accounts on Philippine pre-pilgrim writing, for the most part taken from my Filipino 14 class under Mr. Popa. The pre-pioneer period in the Philippines is the longest section in the nation's history. However it is additionally the darkest part ever, with not many records surviving. The absence of information concerning the period comes from the absence of assets concerning this time, welcomed on by the perishability of the things delivered during those times.Having a solid fondness with nature, the early Filipino people group created things shaped from the crude materials in the district, generally from plants and trees. Another explanation was the Spanish colonization of the Philippines. The Catholic ministers who were entrusted with changing over the â€Å"uncivilized† locals derided the pre-pioneer culture, considering the to be of that time as a danger to their strategic spread Christianity in the land. Just a couple of original copies despite everything make due right up 'til today, generally done by Spanish clerics who had drenched themselves in the network trying to interpret their ways. One of the most significant was the Vocabulario de la Lengua Tagala by Fr. Juan de Noceda and Fr. Pedro San Lucar (1734), a collection of early oral legend that safeguarded numerous instances of pre-frontier writing. Be that as it may, in spite of the Spanish lessons, Philippine pre-pilgrim culture was not as savage as it had been portrayed. The nearness of a clamoring exchange economy with Chinese and Muslim dealers existed well before the arrival of the Spaniards. The oral writing in presence during that time additionally showed a feeling of complexity past that of straightforward uncouth cultures.Anitism, a term begat by Stephen Hislop, alludes to the religion common in the religion around then. The early Filipinos had faith in the nearness ofâ anitos, early stage powers of nature that could go with or have i ndividuals. Filipinos likewise held the rule ofâ loobâ with incredible significance. Freely translated,â loobmeans inside. Loobâ is additionally an unclear reference to the spirit. An endeavor to explainâ loobâ may continue as follows. The idea ofâ loobâ can, as a matter of first importance, be identified with the idea of a spirit. It is something that lives inside the person. However, it isn't bodily, or as explicit as a spirit; it is a fundamental piece of the individual yet not the individual in his/her total. Loobis additionally identified with space and trust; with the phraseâ malapit ang loob ko sa iyoâ (malapitmeaning close) alluding to an individual's high trust level with the other. Loobâ is additionally an individual space, something holy to the individual that has a place with only him. The Filipinos were likewise blessed by the gods in the territory of writing. A long-standing oral convention that despite everything makes due in remainders right up 'til the pre sent time follows its underlying foundations to the pre-pilgrim period. Philippine writing utilized regular language, and was a public activity. As such, the social pertinence of writing during that time was significant. Subjects incorporated the every day schedules of the network, living as per nature and living inside the network. Writing was the essential articulation of the network's encounters, convictions and feelings. Filipino pre-pioneer writing followed certain shows. Because of its oral nature, most stories had a conventional strategy for development. This was strengthened by the obligation of writing as an impression of the public conviction and experience; the redundancy of subjects featured the common characteristics of the locale's way of life, and personality was subsequently embodied. The oral convention additionally refined the structure of pre-pioneer writing, utilizing the utilization of musicality and rhyme to extraordinary impact. Cadence and rhyme recognized arti stic pieces from typical discussion while utilizing the natural ordinary language that everybody in the network comprehended. These gadgets likewise made the pieces simpler to recollect and retell, while permitting the narrator to relate the ascent and fall of tone with the fitting bits of the story.Philippine writing has a profound degree of advancement, found in the natural solidarity of language, subject and importance inside each piece. The utilization of regular language didn't keep the pieces from acquiring a bit of style that set it apart, a demonstration of the abstract capacity of the pre-frontier culture. Writing was a crucial apparatus for network cohesiveness, established in the establishments of language as a device for endurance. Banding together to conquer the perils of the wild, writing took on collective topics that advanced a feeling of fellowship all through the locals.Literature additionally mirrored the fondness of pre-frontier Fipinos with nature, with the util ization of beautiful representations and distinctive foundations to improve the story and express their energy about nature itself. Writing is such a necessary piece of pre-pioneer Philippine culture that it was one of the techniques utilized by the Spanish so as to change over the Filipinos towards Christianity. Be that as it may, the Filipinos were strongly condemning of these Spanish pieces, to a great extent because of their failure to relate them to their shared convictions.

AP Statistics Exam

Gather round, Magooshers. It’s story time. During the first two weeks of 2016, America’s adults were obsessed with winning the lottery. You see, the jackpot had grown to $1,600,000,000. People (including yours truly) were lining up around the block to buy a ticket. For me, spending $2 on a ticket was an excuse to daydream, and nothing more. I knew the odds: 175,000,000 to 1. No one had statistical probability on their side, yet a few people walked away multi-millionaires. Yes, but the odds round down to 0. From playing the lottery to rush hour traffic jams, statistics govern our lives. This branch of math is wholly unique, providing students with a new way to look at the world. If you, too, want to understand the mysteries hidden in the data all around us, AP Statistics is the class for you. In this article I will go over the ins and outs of the AP Statistics Exam. If you get to the end and still have questions, be sure to check out the official College Board website for AP Statistics. Note: This article accounts for the latest revisions to AP Statistics (Fall 2010). Students studying for the AP Statistics Exam should only reference study materials published after this date. How You’re Assessed on the Exam AP Statistics is a math class different from any you have ever taken, so there is a lot to learn. Below is the course’s Topic Outline. Included is each topic’s percentage weight on the AP Statistics Exam, along with a few of the learning objectives. In no way is this a comprehensive study guide, but a preview of what you will encounter in the course and on the exam. Exploring Data: Describing patterns and departures from patterns (20%-30%) Making/interpreting displays of data Summarizing data Sampling and Experimentation: Planning and conducting a study (10%-15%) Methods of data collection Planning and conducting experiments Anticipating Patterns: Exploring random phenomena using probability and simulation (20%-30%) Probability Variables Statistical Inference: Estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses (30%-40%) Estimation Tests of significance Note: One advantage you have on exam day is that all formulas and probability tables are given to you. Yep, the days of memorization are long gone. Successful Time Management In this section, I will break down the length of the AP Statistics Exam, and offer suggestions on how to make sure you successfully finish each section. As you practice, I highly recommend you take as many timed practice exams as you can to become used to format, content, and pacing. For students with a College Board account a full-length practice exam is available for you to take right now. Section I: Multiple Choice (40 Questions, 90 Minutes, 50% of Exam Score) Okay, after doing some non-statistical math, we discover that you have two minutes and 15 seconds to answer each multiple choice question. To finish on time, you need to complete four questions every nine minutes. After taking your first practice test, you discover that the multiple choice section is full of word problems. Word problems take time, so have your pencil ready to underline/circle key information in each passage. Doing this will save precious seconds as you begin to plug information into equations. If you’re taking AP Statistics, I bet you’ve already taken your fair share of high-stakes standardized tests. Even so, check out my article on ACT Time Management. The article goes over some simple tips and tricks that you can’t afford to miss on exam day. Another thing to remember is that like all AP Exams, AP Statistics does not penalize for guessing. That’s right; no points are deducted for incorrect answers. Why is that a good thing for you? Well, if there is a question or two where you get stuck, there is no shame in guessing and moving on. Just don’t leave any questions blank! Break (10 Minutes) Break is an important time during any AP Exam. But for a three-hour test like the AP Statistics Exam, you’re only at the halfway mark. Go to the bathroom, drink a little water, and don’t forget to eat something. You’re going to need some fuel to finish strong. Section II: Free Response (5 Questions, 1 Investigative Task, 90 Minutes, 50% of Exam Score) In the Free Response section, AP recommends that you spend 12 minutes completing each question and 30 minutes completing the Investigative Task. Like many STEM AP Exams, Section II on the AP Statistics Exam has a series of tasks contained in each question. In other words, each question will have a part a, b, c, etc. Each task represents a chunk of your time. To keep a handle on time management, count the number of tasks you are required to do at the beginning of Section II. That way you know the exact amount of time you can dedicate to each task. Another thing to remember before you go jumping into practice tests is that a graphing calculator is required. Make sure its a calculator youre comfortable with. The more comfortable you are with your calculator, there’s less of a chance of it slowing you down (or you making a mistake on it) on test day. Section II Pro-Tip: If you’ve taken multiple timed practice tests, and are comfortable with time management, try to squeeze in the last 2-3 minutes to review what you wrote. Even if the correct answer is in your mind, exam stress might cause you to leave out important information in your replies. If you have time to catch these mistakes, you can fix them. Test Content: Section I (Multiple Choice) Because the exam hasn’t changed in over five years, many multiple choice questions from previous years’ AP Statistics Exams are still a valid way to practice for test day. You will likely see old (but still relevant) exam questions on your tests throughout the year. The multiple-choice questions will test your Statistics knowledge in many different ways. All the questions are ‘stand alone,’ meaning there are no groups of questions focused on a set of data or chart. Even so, each question will ask you apply multiple skills that you developed during AP Statistics. Take time to read the question first before examining the graph/data set. Test Content: Section II (Free Response) Like many of the questions on the multiple-choice section, to answer the Free Response questions, you need to analyze data in the form of text, charts, graphs, or graphics. Let’s say, for example, the questions represent 12 tasks (parts). That means you have 7.5 minutes to complete each task. To write your best replies, consider trying the following strategy when you tackle a practice AP Statistics Exam: 4 minutes: Plan out your reply. Time to calculate! Use the margins of your test booklet as scratch paper. Remember, all the test readers what to see is the answer! 3 minutes: Write your reply. The only thing that matters is that you a) answer the question and b) follow the directions. If you take multiple practice tests, the act of writing answers under pressure will become second nature, something that doesn’t take up a lot of brain power compared to the questions themselves. The End AP Statistics is a course typically taken by 12th grade students. After the exam is over, you will get caught up in graduation and the transition to college. In the midst of this transition The College Board will release AP Statistics scores in early July. Yep, one day in the middle of summer you’ll get an email saying that your scores are ready on your College Board account. For those of you that earn a 5, congratulations. You definitely just earned yourself some college credit. 4s are a bit tricky. Some colleges accept them. Some don’t. â€Å"But,† you may ask. â€Å"I earned a 4. Why wouldnt my top choice colleges accept 4s?† Take it from me, someone who barely passed Calculus in college, math is hard, really hard. While some top colleges do allow students with 4s to place into higher-level classes, many dont. Just so there are no surprises, check with colleges about their AP score policies long before exam day. But hey, there are certain advantages to retaking statistics in college. First of all, it’s a good time to ‘fill in the gaps’ in your statistics knowledge. Also, coming into Statistics 101 with a foundation of knowledge is a great thing. The experience will be less stressful for you than for students who did not take AP Statistics in high school. Take it from me, freshman year is already stressful enough. Why complicate things? AP Statistics is a challenging course. Yet that doesn’t mean the exam is impossible. If you pay attention in class, study (a lot), and take a few practice tests, come test day the odds will be in your favor. Till next time, Magooshers.

Charles Dickens Great Expectations - 1862 Words

Throughout the novel, Great Expectations, Pip must navigate himself from one social class to another. During his journey he is guided by relationships and dilemmas that shape the person he soon will become. Dickens directs two different point of views among the novel, one being of Pip the narrator, and the other being Pip the boy. Among these two views lies an unconscious and conscious thought and motivation. By showing the different emotions among the two, the reader gets a sense of what Pip thought was right when he was younger to what his developed self thinks looking back into his youth. By following this sense of narration, Dickens outlines Sigmund Freud s Theory of Psychoanalysis within the character of Pip. Psychoanalysis Theory was first introduced by the neurologist, Sigmund Freud. He believed that a person had three fundamental structures within their personality (â€Å"Freudian Psychoanalytic†). The first structure that occurred among a person was the ID, this was u sually the first to be developed within a person, and came from a person’s biology and instincts (Roundy). The second structure is called the ego, which is a part of someone’s personality that makes the overall decisions among their actions, thoughts, or motivation. Questions: 1.Different antenna, such as Yagi, Horn, and Cellular antennas, etc. has different merits. Research these technologies in details and pay specific attention to how they are used as well their strengths and weakness. Provide an opinion regarding which antenna types will become the dominant players in the future of medium- and long-distance wireless links. 2.Compare and contrast the multiplexing techniques CDMA and FDMA in the area of wireless networking. 3.A local engineering group ask you to present your finding of the most recent advanced wireless technologies. Research these technologies in details and pay specific attention to how they are used as well their strengths and weakness. Answers: 1.A Yagi antenna is a beam antenna that receives or radiates huge power in distinct directions. This type of antenna allows minimizing intrusion and expanding performance from undesired sources. Yagi antenna consists of several parallel components in a line. This antenna consists of a single driven component that is attached to the receiver or transmitter with a line of transmission (Sun et al., 2013). Yagi antenna is popularly used in High Frequency (HF) bands, Very High Frequency (VHF) bands and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) bands. The advantages of Yagi antenna are as follows: The main advantage of Yagi antenna is that it is a directional antenna. This makes it one of the best antennas for receiving lower strength signals. The high gain of Yagi antenna provides it a relatively better range. This is cheaper and thus it makes this antenna cost effective (Cai et al., 2012). The disadvantages of Yagi antenna are as follows: Bandwidth is less or limited. This type of antenna has a degradation in feed point impedance. A Horn antenna is an antenna, which is composed of a blazing metal waveguide and is shaped like a horn (Mallahzadeh Esfandiarpour, 2012). These are mainly used in Ultra High Frequency bands. The advantages of Horn antenna are as follows: Extensible bandwidth Simple construction (Bilotti et al., 2012). Can operate in a broad range of frequencies. The disadvantages of Horn Antenna are as follows: Low Standing Wave Ratio Average Gain Cellular antenna is widely used in cellular networks. The advantages of cellular antenna are as follows: Can be easily used Simple construction The disadvantages of Cellular antenna are as follows: Very expensive. Average gain. The antenna that will be the dominant player in the future of medium and long distance wireless links is the New Digital Antenna (Sun et al., 2013). This particular antenna is cost effective, as well as the bandwidth of the antenna is extensible. This can be easily used by all individuals. This antenna will surpass all the existing antenna through its advantages. 2.Compare and contrast the multiplexing techniques CDMA and FDMA in the area of wireless networking. Features Code Division Multiple Access Frequency Division Multiple Access Plan To disperse the spectrum using angular codes To divide the frequency bands into multiple smaller bands. Separation of signal Special receivers and coding. Frequency domain is filtered Terminals Every terminal can be active simultaneously at the same time and place without any kind of interruption (Glisic Leppnen, 2013). Every terminal has its own different frequency without any kind of interruption. Transmission scheme Continuous transmission Continuous transmission Capacity of cell No specific limit on capacity of channel but CDMA is a system of limited interference. Limited cell capacity Advantages Flexible, scalable, soft handover, less panning of frequency needed. Established, vigorous, strong, simple Disadvantages Receivers complicated, more complicated power control is needed for senders. Inflexible, frequencies are sparse resources Comments High complexity, faces some of the major problems, much less expectations, is further integrated with Frequency Division Multiple Access or Time Division Multiple Access. Usually integrated with Time Division Multiple Access and Space Division Multiple Access. The above table describes the comparison and contrast between Code Division Multiple Access and Frequency Division Multiple Access. Code-division multiple access or CDMA is amethod that is accessed by channel and is utilized by several communication technologies ofradio (Glisic Leppnen, 2013). This is an example ofmultiple accesses, from where information can be sent through various transmitters at a single time over a single channel of communication. This aspect enables various users to share a vast band of frequencies. CDMA allows a special coding scheme andspread spectrumtechnology to permit this feature. Each transmitter is assigned a single code in this special coding scheme. CDMA is utilized as the method of access in most of the mobile phone standards. Frequency division multiple accessorFDMAis amethod that is accessed by channel and is utilized as a channelization protocol in multiple-access protocols. FDMA provides users an individual allotment of one or morefrequency channels or bands. It is usually very common incommunication of satellite. FDMA collaborates access between several users. 3.Most recent advanced wireless technologies are Bluetooth technology, RFID, NFC and Wi-Fi (Liang Yu, 2015). The strengths and weaknesses of these technologies are as follows: Bluetooth technology Strengths: It is cheaper Very convenient for attachment of various devices. Bluetooth technology can be installed very easily (Heydon, 2013). It can be utilized easily when the device has already installed the technology. Weaknesses: Extremely virus prone when installed in mobile phones. It can be easily hacked. Connectivity is weak. The range in which Bluetooth can connect devices is less. RFID: Radio Frequency Identification has certain merits and demerits. Strengths: Security level is high RFID tags can store more data and information. RFID technology has a versatile nature. Tag has the write option along with read options. Weaknesses: The programming part of RFID technology requires more time. RFID is extremely expensive. NFC: Near Field Communication plays a major role in the mobile industry. It is another recent wireless technology. Strengths: It has high security with password protection (Coskun, Ozdenizci Ok, 2013). Convenience is the major benefit of this technology. It is extremely versatile and can be applied to various industries. It has high level of encryption that makes it suitable for academic areas. Weaknesses: It is extremely expensive and thus it becomes tough to install it. It becomes very difficult for smaller organizations to install this system. Wi-Fi: Wifi is another most recent advanced wireless technology (Bilotti et al., 2012). This technology helps to gain access to the internet. Strengths: It provides high convenience for users to access the resources online. Users can access internet anywhere with the presence of public wifi. It can be developed with ease. It is cheaper and cost effective. Weaknesses: Security is the major issue in wifi technology. It has a slower speed as compared to all other networks (Sun et al., 2013). Its coverage range is suitable for a home connection but not for a large area. It has huge interference leading to loss of connectivity.
